Uday Foundation’s Food Donation Program on Tritiya Shradh 2024: Honoring Ancestral Spirits During Pitru Paksha

In the Hindu calendar, Pitru Paksha is a solemn period when Hindus pay homage to their ancestors. Among the important days within this fortnight, Tritiya Shradh holds significant importance. On the auspicious occasion of Tritiya Shradh, which falls on 20 September 2024, the Uday Foundation is organizing a food donation program to honor ancestral spirits and promote the spirit of giving.

Importance of Tritiya Shradh:

Tritiya Shradh, also known as the third day of the Pitru Paksha period, is dedicated to paying homage to departed souls and seeking their blessings. According to Hindu beliefs, during this time, the souls of ancestors visit the earthly realm to bless their descendants. By performing rituals and offering food to the departed, Hindus express gratitude and seek blessings for the well-being of their families.

Significance of Food Donation:

Food donation, or Annadanam, is considered a noble act in Hinduism. It is believed that by offering food to the needy, we also provide nourishment to our ancestors in their spiritual journey. Tritiya Shradh presents a unique opportunity to combine the act of food donation with the remembrance of departed souls. By participating in Uday Foundation’s food donation program, you can honor your ancestors while making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
