IMPORTANT: Please note that we are assessing the flood situation in Punjab, Haryana, and other parts of India. We are in touch with various local grassroots organizations and will initiate our efforts in these areas soon.

The recent floods in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh due to heavy rainfall have wreaked havoc, leaving communities devastated and in dire need of assistance. Uday Foundation is leading a massive relief effort in the affected regions, and we urgently appeal for your support to provide immediate aid and relief to those affected by the floods.

The Impact of the Floods

Himachal Pradesh

In Himachal Pradesh, over 700 roads have been blocked due to the floods and landslides. Rescue operations led by the Indian Army and the National Disaster Response Force are underway. Flash floods and landslides have caused extensive damage to infrastructure, including roads and buildings. The region has witnessed heavy rainfall equivalent to a month’s worth in just a single day, leading to severe disruptions and stranding tourists in places like Manali.

Uttarakhand

The situation remains grim in Uttarakhand, with heavy rains persisting for several days. Key routes have been blocked due to landslides and flood-like conditions, causing inconvenience to pilgrims. The Khadar area has been severely inundated after the release of 40,000 cusecs of water from Roorkee into the Solani River. Villagers in Khadar are facing shortages of essential supplies, including animal fodder. The flooding has disrupted daily life, cutting off villages and causing significant hardships for the affected communities.
